Frequently asked

Why don't the conditions exactly match another weather app?

Westcast uses modelled forecast data for weather, wind and swell, and tide predictions for tides. Different apps use different data sources and stations, so figures can vary. Westcast's readings are a guide for planning — always check the Bureau of Meteorology and local marine warnings before heading out.

What's included free, and what needs Westcast Pro?

Today's conditions and bite score, the species guide, catch log, map and safety guidance are all free. Westcast Pro unlocks Ask Westcast (the assistant), multi-day trip planning, conditions for any location, and the detailed tide & solunar calendar.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. On your device: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Westcast. You can change or cancel there at any time.

Are the fishing rules and size limits official?

Size and bag limits are sourced from the WA Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) recreational fishing rules and are provided as a guide. Rules can change — always confirm the current regulations with DPIRD before fishing.

Is my catch data private?

Your catch log is stored on your device. Catches are only shared if you choose to post one to the community feed. See our Privacy Policy for details.
