These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Westcast app ("Westcast", "the app"), provided by the Westcast team ("we", "us"), based in Western Australia, Australia. By downloading or using Westcast, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Westcast provides recreational fishing information including weather, tides, wind, swell, fishing-condition scores, a species guide, a catch log, and an optional community feed. Some features require a paid subscription ("Westcast Pro").
Westcast is for general informational and recreational use only. The conditions, scores, tides, and forecasts it shows are estimates and may be inaccurate or out of date. Westcast is not a navigation, weather-warning, or safety device. Always check official sources — including the Bureau of Meteorology and local marine and emergency authorities — and use your own judgement before going fishing or onto the water. You are responsible for your own safety.
Size limits, bag limits, closures, and other rules shown in Westcast are provided as a general guide and may change. They do not replace official regulations. You are responsible for complying with current fishing rules from the relevant fisheries authority (for Western Australia, the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development). Always confirm the current rules before fishing.
Westcast Pro is an auto-renewing subscription offered on a monthly and an annual basis, purchased through your Apple App Store account.
Prices are shown in the app at the time of purchase and may vary by region. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms; we do not process payments or refunds directly.
If you share catches or other content to the community feed, you are responsible for that content and confirm you have the right to share it. You agree not to upload content that is unlawful, offensive, infringing, or harmful. We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach these Terms. By sharing content, you grant us a licence to display it within the app's community features.
You are responsible for activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep your account secure.
Westcast, its content, and its design are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the app except as permitted by law.
Westcast is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the information is accurate, complete, or uninterrupted. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the app or its information. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Your use of Westcast is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest version. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia.
